The focus of all 4-H programs is the development of youth as individuals and as responsible and productive citizens. The National 4-H Shooting Sports Program stands out as an example. Youth learn marksmanship, the safe and responsible use of firearms, the principles of hunting and archery, and much more. The activities of the program and the support of caring adult leaders provide young people with opportunities to develop life skills, self-worth, and conservation ethics.
Collin County Field & Stream 4-H Club offers a comprehensive 4-H shooting sports program for those youth interested in any of the field and stream projects within 4-H which include archery, smallbore rifle (.22), smallbore pistol (.22), air rifle, air pistol, BB gun, shotgun, muzzleloading, and hunting and wildlife education. Shooters at all skill levels (beginner through advanced) are welcome to participate in this program. Participants can also compete at any of many different competitive events offered around the state in any of the 4-H shooting disciplines.

ELIGIBILITY: Participants in the 4-H Shooting Sports Project must be at least 9 years old (or 8 and in the third grade) and no older than 18 as of August 31 each year.
